the recipe...
Bring your wife and first born of 11 months out into the woods on a clear sunny day... only to have a severe thunderstorm move in while you're a mile into the wilderness... but then just as things start to let up, trade the thunderstorm for a hailstorm so that you are ferociously pelted with ice pellets while you race the final half mile back to the car... occasionally being forced to hunker under trees when the ice starts to come down with enough force to put a dent in your head. And once you're done with that, all dried off and back in your tent... trade the hailstorm for a lightning storm, relentless winds, and more pouring rain. And throw in a fair share of earth shattering crackles of thunder just to remind your darling wife that the only thing between her and the worse storm she's ever witnessed is a thin piece of fabric that her husband somehow convinced her would pass for shelter in the great outdoors. Oh.. and one more thing... while you're in the midst of that hailstorm with your sleeping toddler firmly tucked under your soaked tee-shirt... politely turn and ask your wife to take a picture of it all for the sake of some stupid photo archive that you keep on the internet. If she doesn't throw you off the cliff at that very moment, then you may have just found yourself a woman worth holding on to. |
